Changes in Production and Consumption
Since agriculture has changed, the enviornment has been impacted by such changes. First we have two different types of indicators of enviornmental changes which are means based and effect based. Means based is based on a farmers production methods, while effect based is the farming methods that have an effect on the farming system or on emssions to the enviornment. Climate change such as global warming has affected conditions that determine the capacity of the biosphere to produce enough food. Deforestation has caused loses of species and has led to climate change also.
The distribution of food has also become very gobalized, as a few companies step into making sure that food from distant farms and plantations makes its way to the local grocery store. They're also responsible for processing food before it is sold to the consumer. The lengths these companies make to get food from one place to another is large. The globalization of agriculture basically holds that many multinational agribusiness corporations hold tremendous sway in food production.
Women play a significant role in the agriculture labor force and agriculture activities. Women were producing about 60-80 percent of food. Many women would be the ones who would gather, farm and sometimes manage the agribusinesses. As time progressed, women began to work outside the home and farms, and fast-food became the consumption option for many families.
