The Hoyt Sector model is a modern city that is developed with many nodes. Similar to the Burgess Cocentric Model however this model allows for the city to have an outward progression of growth.
The Urban Realms model is basically where the city is made up of small "realms" which are self-sufficient urban areas with independent focal points. These realms diminish the point of a CBD because they accomplish approximately the same as if a CBD were to be present.
The Multiple Nuclei model contains 9 different sections in the model. This model believes that the CBD shouldn't be the main focus. A city with a multiple nuclei format is what helps allow for sprawling and expansive cities.
Urban Models
The Latin American model is a model that includes a CBD, a dominant elite residential sector, and a commerical spine.
The Southeast Asian model is a model where the CBD is centered around a port zone, and contains a western commercial zone for western businesses, alien commercial zones, mixed land zone, a government zone, and a high class residential zone.
The African City model includes a colonial CBD, a traditional CBD, and market. Moving outward you have ethnic and mized neighborhoods and an informal satellite township.
