Plant and animal production is dependent on climatic conditions, including spatial variations in temperature and rainfall. This also includes factors such as if an area can be used being arable or conducive to farming, whether it will be plant or animal based, and lastly wherether it will be either substinence or commercial farming. Agriculture from the Middle East did makes it way to Europe because of the similarity in crop complexes. Also, they found out certain crops grow better in different climates, like rye is more tolerant of wetter climates. 

     Economic factors that commercial farmers take into consideration are factors such as which item or items will help them achieve a maximum return on thei investment. The choice of what to farm depends on the comparative advantage of the land, market demands, and the quantity and skills that are needed from the farmers themselves. You had two types of farming which were extensive and intensive. Extensive included: shifting cultivation, nomadic herding, and ranching, which intensive included: market gardening, plantation agriculture, and mixed crop/livestock systems.

     As time goes on it became apparent that large scale commercial agricultural operations were taking place of small family farms. It was known that the people needed to be more toward commercial agriculture rather than subsistence agriculture. Because of this many of agricultures memebers are part of agribusinesses, which essentially allows for a big company to own a large amount of land and have individual all cultivate crops and raise animals for their benefit, which help lead to chain productions.

     Food is part of a global supply chain. Certain products from certain areas such as the less-developed low latitude regions, their production is what is mostly consumed globally.Patterns of global food distribution are affected by political systems, infrastructure, and patterns of world trade. What you may eat in your country might be seen as a minority to the rest an example being drinking milk. In America this is very common however to the rest of the world many people can't digest  milk properly.
